Dan Guzynski

As parents of two daughters, my wife and I believe this community is the best place to raise a family, live, work, and play.  I’m running for Lewis and Clark County Attorney to ensure it stays that way.  I would be honored to bring my extensive experience and expertise to serve as a voice for the citizens of Lewis and Clark County.

An Experienced Chief Prosecutor

for Lewis and Clark County

22 Years Experience

For 22 years, my focus has been on holding offenders responsible for victimizing Montanans. Each day, I have the honor of working to protect the citizens of our state.  My track record includes  45 felony jury trials, including 15 homicide trials, and securing numerous convictions against sexual predators.

No One Is Above The Law

All Montanans deserve a legal system that is just and protects our most vulnerable.  I’ve successfully prosecuted people in power for sexually abusing Montanan’s children, including a Kalispell Community Leader (State v. Dasen), a Valley County Undersheriff (State v. Strommen), and Anaconda-Deer Lodge  County Commissioner (State v. Pierce).

Complex Cases

My legal career includes handling many complex, high-profile cases, such as State v. Lecou, a triple homicide in Carbon County, State v. Wilson, a double homicide case in Colstrip, and State v. Wood, a homicide case in Sanders County where Ms. Wood shot and killed her daughter’s father to gain custody of her children.

Multiple Agency Relationshps

Working with numerous law enforcement agencies –  including County Attorney Offices, Sheriff’s Departments, the Highway Patrol, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency – I’ve developed strong relationships important to obtain favorable and just outcomes.

Lead Prosecutor

I was recently honored to serve as the lead prosecutor securing a successful conviction in the case of State v. Lloyd Barrus - a case in which Broadwater County Sheriff Deputy Mason Moore was shot and killed by Mr. Barrus and his son.
